This then got media and more politics involved after President Trump’s comments, which helped make this issue more known. Kneeling is also an action that is against the social norm. People usually stand when present in front of the flag or national anthem because it is part of American culture. In addition, the motion of kneeling and the flag are symbols that emphasize their cause. People are kneeling during the anthem to make a point and it is catching people’s attention.
