The Myths, facts, and reality of Climate Change What is Climate change, and how do people know it is happening? Climate change is the systematic change of weather and temperature of the earth. Humans have increased the speed of this ever since the industrial revolution, but not by how much the public eye thinks. The earth is natural changing on it's own. Climate change has been happening for a while and people can see those changes in sea level rises, and the average temperature rising slowly, less than a half of a degree a year. people know that humans are not the main cause of the climate changing because people know that the earth has done this before, and people can prove this by looking at the last two ice ages. If the temperature is too high or too low for longer than two weeks, “zooxanthellae”, which is the corals food source leaves and the corals lose their pigment and it turns white. Another problem in the reefs is acidification.
