I think that the main points illustrated by Plato's Allegory of the Cave are that people only know what they experience and only choose to accept what they have experienced, people who have knowledge have a responsibility to share it and that ignorance is bliss. The men trapped in the cave demonstrate how people will only believe what they have experienced by shunning the man who tries to tell them of the outside world. They aren't willing to accept that there is more to life than the wall and shadows in front of them. Plato believes that even the world we live in may just be another wall that is blocking us from seeing the truth.…

The fictional story the Allegory of the Cave can be interpreted in many different ways in the modern world. The way which I will try to interpret the Allegory of the Cave is the following. The prisoners as the Greek intemperate are the iron man just as humanity in this generation. The puppeteers are the government. The shadows that the fire cast, which puppeteer's show in the walkway represents what the government wants to show the citizen or (the prisoners of society).…

Often when you have a particular outlook to challenges, and approach problems with a certain personality, your outcome reflects your outlook. In the short story, “The Skeleton Key” by George G. Toudouze, the Narrator’s determination, logicalness, and positivity all contribute to why the he survived the attack. To begin, the Narrator has a good sense of determination. On page 163 it states, “ The pay was high, so in order to reach the sum I had set out to save before I married, I volunteered for service in the new light.” This quote shows that the author is determined.…

In a closet in a room in the basement of my house lies a large chuck of raw copper. Corroded with a green and white patina, from its years of oxidation, the parts that still keep their brown color show no shine, and large blobs stick out of the sides that once connected it to the cave wall. When I would play in that room, I always thought that it was just some decoration, and I never knew the story behind it. Until one day mw and my dad were sitting around a camp fire and my brothers were asking for a story. With the use of numerous key symbols and metaphors, Plato further…
