The Munich Massacre was the result of a Palestinian terrorist group called Black September which left 11 Israeli athletes dead. This group attacked the Israeli Olympic Team during the Summer Olympics on September 5th, 1972 where they captured them and held them hostage. The wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg and champion weight lifter Yossef Romano were shot and killed, while the other Israeli hostages died later.
