Based on my observation, Bella compares to the young girl we discussed in class that got kicked out school for being a tomboy. She isn’t interested in clothes or make up, but she choses to be controlled by Edward. In addition, Bella was an odd character that presented the idea that females need a man to complete them. Even more, the movie is a source of education to young girls towards a dangerous lesson of love. (Shaw, 291) Also, women are encouraged to improve their physical appearance in order to meet society’s requirements. Furthermore, as Bella returned from her trip to the bookstore with Edward her friends did not mind her skipping lunch. Scenarios like these show that men are superior and a women must be beautiful to attract a man in order to be important. Last, this scenario was interesting because it proves to the audience that Bella wasn’t brainwashed like others and that’s why Edward had difficult time reading her
