This essay will be based on the movie Cyberbully. This movie was produced in 2011, Directed by Charles Biname. This movie features Taylor Hillridge (Emily Osment) who is a teenage girl that is being raised by her single mother, Kris (Kelly Rowan), along with her younger brother, Eric (Robert Naylor). She is close friends with two other girls, Samantha Caldone (Kay Panabaker) and Cheyenne Mortenson (Meaghan Rath). When Taylor turns 17 she receives a laptop for her birthday from her mother. She is pressured by her friends to create an account on Cliquesters, a social networking site similar to Facebook. On the website, she is slammed and made fun of. Sometimes people get bullied to the point where they just can 't take it anymore and start having suicidal thoughts. Taylor ends up being one of those people. One morning Taylor wakes up and checks her clickster, only to find out that james was posting untrue statuses about her. One of the statuses he posted said, “I hooked up with Taylor and now i have the clap, she’s so gross” with other people commenting rude comments about her also. After weeks of being called names from Lyndsey (a mean girl at Taylor’s school) and James posting Lies about Taylor on Clickster Taylor and her friend Cheyenne decide to start to dig in to find out who James really is. That night they find out that james isn 't who he says he is and that someone from their school made the fake account to embarrass Taylor. The next day, Taylor is still upset by the post and all the negative comments, but her friend Cheyenne tells her that she should go because everyone had probably forgotten about the status over the weekend. So Taylor decides to go to school that Monday in hope that everyone had forgotten about the status over the weekend like Cheyenne said they would. When her mom gives her a computer for her birthday, she is excited to experience the freedom and the independence of being online.
