People have said that the Mothman reports could have been pranks or unidentified planes (Moye). Many people thought the Mothman was a hoax (Moye). Many people came up with this theory. Researcher Joe Nickell stated in his book, The Mystery Chronicles: More Real Life X-Files, “That after the first sightings, a group of construction workers revealed to have tied red flashlights to helium balloons” (Moye). Joe Nickell also suggest that the Mothmans red glowing eyes were actually caused by the red-eye effect from light of flashlights or other bright lights (Moye). This theory is valid because people have gotten caught trying to pull Mothman pranks. Some workers were also revealed to try and pull a prank by tying red flashlights to balloons (Moye). This theory can also be invalid because there were a lot of witnesses who said they did see something real (Taylor). Everybody who said they saw the Mothman does not think it was a prank or illusion

Something had fallen out of the sky and crashed on a ranch near Roswell (Spiegel), and the Roswell Army Air Field was alerted of the crash. A few members of the army were sent to retrieve the debris and wreckage. What was discovered was not exactly that of a UFO, such as the wooden sticks, pieces of rubber, and I-beams found, or perhaps that is just what the government wants people to think? Bodies were also discovered, though these bodies weren’t exactly human. The bodies were described with having “oversized heads and eyes”, and the bodies were also no taller than 5 feet, so they were also described as “children”.…
