The EU and Russia are divided at the moment, and they are becoming more polarized to each other, as they approach each other’s dominions. The EU wishes to strength its group, while adding more countries to its ranks, and decreasing the power of Russia. Russia sees their advances on its former territories and “President Putin saw this new step of westernization occurring in the redefined "Eastern Europe" as an "assault" against Russian strategic interests and decided to combat the process of rapprochement between these states and the European Union” (Naumescu). Russia is getting weaker as oil prices drop, and as they lose their interests to the west, but as they use violence and no diplomacy to act on their own selfish needs, the international community or NATO will get involved. The hostile annexing of Crimea is still not recognized internationally.…

In just a couple months Trump has destroyed all of those relationships that Obama took 8 years to build. Look at Great Britain for example, they were a world super power for centuries and for the most part disregarded foreign relationships. Now the are no longer in that position. The U.S. needs to learn from that. This is the sad state of U.S. politics, forever in a political deadlock, and republicans are happy with that as long as Democrats cant do anything.…

I enjoyed reading your post and agree with your thoughts that Donald Trump is a go getter and not a quitter. I found this great article which compared six key leadership traits that Donald Trump and Pope Frances share. These traits include being authentic, dealmakers, populists, mavericks, charismatic, and fearless. The article discusses how Mr. Trump is found to be authentic, but all so full of horse manure. I believe in regards of him being a populist, he believes he is representing the interest of people with his statements, but in turn he insults cultures, genders, and disables.…

The United States enjoyed a meteoric rise in global power during the early 1900’s. Despite a brief challenge from the Soviet Union from 1922-1991, they have remained the one constant power in the international system. To this day, they remain in control of the world due to the power they possess in the forms of military power, economic power, and soft power (Boyer et al. 36). While the United States currently operates in a unipolar world, one in which they are the true hegemon, power is beginning the shift further and further away from the United States (Boyer et al. 71). By the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, we will see a world that is nonpolar, with no true power in control of the international system as the United States begins to focus…

Correlations between Leadership and World Events Since the beginning of time, governments have played a major role concerning the well being of its people. The very concept of having a government was to provide stability and safety to all those who reside in a certain area. Whether one leans left or right politically is irrelevant, both sides understand the job of having a government fundamentally comes down to providing a basic, moral framework that provides safety and economic stability, not just for their own citizens, but to the world as well.
