The Most Meaningful Clause In The American Legion Preamble

The most meaningful clause in The American Legion Preamble to me is “To promote peace and good will on earth.” This clause is important and meaningful because one of our main problems in America is keeping the peace among our citizens and exemplifying good will to everyone in our everyday lives whether big or small. It is important to remember that our country was at its best when all parties were peaceful and doing what was best for one another. The literal definition of peace is “freedom from disturbance.” We seemed to have strayed away from that as the years have gone by, and it has been proven numerous times in our federal government, in our economy and in our citizens everyday lives. The Palmetto Boys State experience is something that will help with that because they will helping young men like me get advice and information on how to better the world through good will and at the same time bring about peace in the world. Peace and good will are very meaningful to me and I hope they mean a lot to other people as well because as we progress in life, it will get harder to influence people to better themselves and promote peace and good will. We must come together as people did back in the day and find a solution to our peace and good will problem. As you can see throughout this essay, I take peace and good will very seriously and I will not rest until everyone I come in contact with has had a little taste of peace and good will in their life, and they can go out and help other people get through tough situations.
