The Most Dangerous Game Out of all the three short stories “The Most Dangerous Game” is the best out of all the three in my opinion. The plot in “The Most Dangerous Game” starts out in a ship full of sailors. One of Rainsford's crew members named Whitney then starts talking about a mysterious island that is close by. When everyone falls fast asleep Rainsford hears gunshots and he suddenly wakes up from his sleep and tries to see where the strange firing of a gun happened his pipe was knocked from his mouth. Rainsford then falls out of the ship while trying to catch his fallen pipe and is forced to swim to shore. He reaches an island which is referred to as “Ship-Trap Island” by the superstitious sailors and decides to follow the gunshots he heard from before. That leads him come across bullets from a gun and footprints. Rainsford then follows the path that leads to a mansion in the middle of an island. …show more content…
Rainsford knocks on the door and comes face to face a man named General Zaroff, who at first impression seems quite serious with his vivid white hair and military style mustache. After the two men talk Zaroff invites Rainsford over for dinner and during dinner Rainsford meets Ivan and talks to Zaroff about his impressive collection.
