The Most Dangerous Game Is Rainsford Clever

Decent Essays
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Rainsford is brave, clever, and confident. First of all, Rainsford is brave because he chooses to be hunted instead of being tortured by Ivan. He does this because he knows he is going to die more painfully if given to Ivan. Second, he is clever because Rainsford sets many types of trap, like the knife trap that killed Ivan and the Tiger bed. Rainsford is also really confident, because he is not afraid to state his opinion, like with the general when Rainsford says, “‘Thank you, I’m a hunter not a murder’” (Connell 70). Rainsford is brave, clever and confident because he is a person with a lot of self-confidence and he is not afraid of much.

“The human face is, after all, nothing more nor less, a mask.” -Agatha Christie People only know what you show them about yourself, and when you finally show your true colors, it can come as quite a surprise to most.
