(MIP) This meme focuses on a major message that was taught in the book, the humanity of a person. (SIP-A) This meme can be used to persuade people in our society to not be around technology too much, so that they don't lose their humanity.(STEWE-1) When Montag was talking about a serious topic to Mildred, she seemed like she needed an escape, because she didn't want to talk to him. So when,“The telephone rang. Mildred snatched the phone” (Bradbury 70). Mildred didn't even spare a minute to talk to Montag and hear what he had to say. She didn't even want to speak to him, and didn't just pick up the phone, but she “snatched” the phone. It seems like she had no interest in talking to Montag and was looking for an escape from him. This shows her …show more content…
(STEWE-1) Part of Montag’s realization of this lack of humanity is when he asks many questions, one of them being, “‘Millie, does-he licked his lips-’does your ‘’family’’ love you, love you very much, love you with all their heart and soul, Millie?’...”’why'd you ask me a silly question like that?’”(Bradbury 73). Montag tried to put the humanity back into Millie, by trying to make her think. Of course, her not thinking, she doesn't realize what Montag is trying to do. This shows that Montag truly has changed and has humanity. If he doesn't, he wouldn't even think to ask this question. (STEWE-2) When Montag starts to question Mildred’s mind and humanity he thought, “And he remembered thinking then that if she died, he was certain he wouldn't cry. For it would be the dying of an unknown, a street face, a newspaper image...a silly empty woman...how do you get so empty? He wondered…”(Bradbury 41). Montag had changed too, knowing that his wife was empty and lacking humanity. He realized that he wouldn't cry for an empty person with no emotions, humanity, or contributions towards the world. He had humanity too, because he was thinking about Mildred being so …show more content…
(SIP-A) This meme uses pathos to scare the audience into thinking they will become like Mildred and to have them notice the joy in humanity. (STEWE-1) First, telling the audience that they will become inhumane, empty, and stupid will scare them into thinking that they truly will become like this. That is, if they are glued to technology. They will be afraid of becoming an empty, stupid and inhumane person. Of course, no one in our society would want to be like this because it isn't socially acceptable. This uses the emotion, worry, and fear to convince the audience. They will not want to be glued to the technology anymore. (STEWE-2) Second, using the emotions, happiness, and joy, the meme uses pathos to convince the audience to go far from technology as well. In the meme, in the group of people who are partying together, it's clear to see how much happiness and fun those people are having. Of course, our society would want to be those people without technology who are yet happy. So this meme shows that being away from technology is more fun than being near it. Near those group of people is a man who is isolated in his technology. He has his phone in his hand, his laptop on the table, his tablet next to him, and the TV running. He doesn't look as happy as everyone else. In our society, no one would want to be an unhappy man like him and would much rather be a

First, Captain Beatty misquotes the Constitution of the Unites States stating “We must all be alike…not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal” (Brown). Beatty is actually quoting the Declaration of Independence not the Constitution. Bradbury emphasizes “the power of language and the tyranny of its miss use, censorship, or absence” (Brown). The second point illustrated by Captain Beatty was that the government did not organize censorship but various minority groups who did not want material they found offensive published. Captain Beatty states “technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God.…

For this reason, Bradbury is very frustrated with society. In the book, Montag feels like he is being followed by somebody while walking in a alley at night. He explains it as if somebody was just turning the corners right after him, and he felt a gust of wind on a still night. Just before Montag made it home, he was stopped by a sixteen year old girl that had plenty of questions to ask him. “The girl stopped and looked as if she might pull back in surprise, but instead stood regarding Montag with eyes so dark and shining and alive that he felt as if he said something quite wonderful” (Bradbury 6).…

People have experienced this in life and these ideas are shown in many stories too. The theme and idea that change is hard to accept is shown throughout the book. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the theme of change is hard to accept shows the struggles that the main characters are going through, and the futuristic society that is struggling with the idea of not being with a tv or entertainment. Near the end of the book Montag is struggling with the idea of finally escaping the punishment of having books and where everybody is anti social, by getting scared of a deer, and still thinking that the mechanical hound is after him even though he just escaped to the river. In Fahrenheit 451, the theme that change is hard to accept is shown.…

After growing restless and angry about the conversation he had heard, Montag burst out, “Oh God, the way they jabber about people and their own children and themselves and the way they talk about their husbands and the way they talk about war, dammit, I stand here and I can’t believe it!” (Bradbury 98). In other words, Montag was expressing his outrage and frustration at the content of the women’s conversation, due to the triviality and lack of actual meaning of the words that he had heard. He was knowingly breaking the law, risking everything he had, just to make those women see what he saw as the truth, that books contained meaning instead of being lifeless, and that it was the discussions the women held that lacked meaning. Montag also says to the women, “Go home and think how it all happened and what did you ever do to stop it?…
