I feel as though my moral code has been influenced primarily by, my parents. As far back as I can remember I have been taught what 's right and what’s wrong and those memories are from my parents. Growing up in my house could be considered rather old fashioned, as we got spankings when we did something wrong. As I’ve matured and been exposed to more difficult moral questions, I’ve seen more and more of my parents in me. From politics, to friends, sometimes when I make judgements I notice just how much of an influence my parents have had on me.

Growing up with my parents disciplining me has shaped how I view the justice system, and punishment. I have seen this come out with the proposed removal of the death penalty and other similar political matters. Growing up my parents never drank, or smoked, as a result I have very strong views against both smoking and habitual drinking, this extends to using drugs and other abusable substances. Not only am I against smoking for the obvious health problems it brings, I’m also against because of a very interesting story. When I was about twelve I used to sneak cigarettes from my Grandpa’s Marlboro Lights, after choking on the first one, and going through a total of three, I felt so sick that I swore I would never smoke
