Firstly, Kirkpatrick demonstrated reliable researches by quoting valuable researches from different professors properly. He used quotation marks, stated the authors’ name and their positions. He was very detailed to include the name of the university department and the board they belong to. According to one of his sources stated “in time many manufactures will add more pre-programmed features to a normal car but still has a long way to go before it is morally acceptable for use” (Kirkpatrick, 2015). Many consumers these days will most likely stay with a car for more than a year. In order to get many people onboard with this idea might be hard and expensive. As implied by the author people want to drive a safe car and have control over certain emergencies this can cause many do dislike driverless cars. He was able to use the researches done by different university professors and properly evaluate them through a consumer’s point of view. With this quote he was able to show the reader the beneficial reasons of owning a driverless car since no human intervention is required. By providing these statistics he also provided indirect awareness of how safe this car is. According to another article “the Road Ahead for Self-driving Cars” (Birdsall,2014), “the company also believes self-driving cars can deliver life-changing mobility benefits to people who cannot drive themselves due to age or vision impairment” (Birdsall,2014).
