Google measures relevance every day and this time they thought it was racist so they went in and manually fixed it. A personal example from my life is that one time I attempted to search NFL superstar Michael Vick a couple weeks after he went to jail for the whole dog fighting incident. As soon as I clicked the images link on google all I saw was pictures of dogs on his face and google allowed this to stay on their website over a long period of time even though that was not what Michael Vick was originally known for. I think if it was a high class person from the House of Representatives that had dogs on his face, Google would have proceeded to remove the pictures …show more content…
It also happens on social media, websites, and in the news. Almost every popular internet site, no matter the type is biased in some way. If large websites such as Google focused on accurate information and not letting personal views get in the way of gaining knowledge, I am sure that others would follow in their footsteps. It is important to focus on issues that really matter like having everyone treated equally no matter their gender, race, background or social status. Google could make a big impact by sharing only truthful information and showing only accurate pictures. I believe the Google staff needs to work harder to make the statement, “with Google I get the best unbiased search result (2015 Eskrom),” come true. The reason I say this is because most of America use google as their go to source, therefore I don’t think google should basically “choose sides” with certain individuals. For example, in my everyday life I witness others judge people by popularity just like Google did in this case. For example, I have seen coaches turn down great athletes just because he doesn’t have the stars that the big name athletes have that are all on recruiting websites. I completely disagree with the situation because that is not fair at all and most of the time the athletes with all the stars be overrated. I’ve witnessed kids
