The Moon’s Curse

There once was a girl named Miyu, she lived in a quaint village directly in the middle of the forest. The village was Known as Ferncrest. It is called this because large ferns formed wall looking structures all around the small village.

The village of Ferncrest was magical and was filled to the brim with many wonders. Miyu turned out to be a fairy which was rare. Most of the villagers were Elves or Goblins. To be more specific, the people that founded the village were fairies, so they were seen as royalty of a sort. Practically no Royalty is left, only The Emperor, The Emperor’s Biological son, and The Emperor’s stepson. Miyu however, wasn’t royalty. It seemed obvious she came from a branch family from

She thought it would stay this way forever, but her life was soon to change.

One day the wings of an Angel were spotted in the sky, they glowed bright as the sun with a golden hue. Many of the villagers came out and stood around the well of Hope. This well wasn’t an Ordinary well, it held magical essence. This magical essence was why any of them existed! For generations the Emperor assigned young men to guard the well all day long.

The angel came closer to the ground and flapped it wings a few times. As it did, the sky turned to a dark grey and loud thundering noises rang throughout the land. The angel held a worried face and their hands were visibly shaking. Miyu’s gaze was locked onto the scroll he held, it was wrapped with a gorgeous golden bow that glittered in the sunlight.

“U-um, sir?” she spoke to the angel bravely. She had to speak loud over the chattering of the other villagers, a few of which went to investigate the strange shift of weather.

“What is that thing you are holding in your hand?” she asked childishly. Miyu knew what it was, it was a message from the deities. At her school they taught of many things, one of which being ancient history. It is said long ago an Angel flew as a bird from the sky would and delivered a message from the gods. Many didn’t believe this tale, but Miyu

A few hours later she arrived at a fancy building that was guarded by many fairies and even a moat full of sirens. As she flew up to the castle, a few guards blocked her way with long silver spears.

“Halt! No one passes this point!” the guards announced at the same time. You could see their tenseness somewhat lifted at the sight of Miyu being a fairy. The shriek of a phoenix came from inside the walls of the Emperor’s Domain. Miyu lifted her head and gazed into the sky, watching the bird. It hovered high in the sky and it stood there just watching her. The phoenix was as white as the clouds and the ends of its wings were blue flames. What an amazing creature, Miyu thought to herself.

“Maybe coming here wasn’t such a bad idea..” Miyu said amazed under her breath. the surrounding land was filled with things she had never seen! Tons of plants could be seen, tall ones that reached the clouds, ones that were the homes of animals, and even ones that talked! The animals were just as -if not more- amazing! There were unicorns traveling in herds and griffins flying through the sky! These kinds of things could never be seen in the remote middle of the forest where she

Despite her parents telling her the difficulty in finding this crane, Mie is persistent to find it regardless. In addition, while Sachiko’s thoughts are told in third person point of view, her thoughts are shared through her dream-like description of her surroundings. Sachiko describes that “even at the edge of the river there were no fireflies… Down into the grasses on the bank, and there, in that delicate moment before the last light goes, were fireflies, gliding out over the water in low arcs like the sweep of the grasses (Tanizaki 10).” Throughout Sachiko’s description of the fireflies, it was a stimulation of the imagination.…
