Our history is full of events that played roles in changing our point of view about the world that we live on. One of those events was the Moon landing in 1969. It was a huge advancement in technology. Everyone was amazed when they know that humans were able to go to the moon and land on it. It was one of the United States greatest accomplishment because for the first time human were able to step onto the Moon. However, the United States was not the only country that doing research about rockets and satellites; the Soviet Union has the precession in this field. These people doubt about the moon landings and believe that the moon landing was faked because they think that it was filmed on Earth. One of the things that made them think the moon landing was faked because the picture of the American flag which was waving so they thought that it was filmed on Earth; however, their point of view has logical justification. According to the author Piers Bizony in the article "It was all fake, right?" he explains, "When the astronauts deployed the flag, it did wave about for quite a while, but this was residual momentum from contact with the astronauts — not the product of windy weather. In fact, that lack of wind resistance is precisely why the flag continued to drift back and forth for so long."(Bizony, 24) This explanation proves that the waving flag is not a strong evidence to say that the moon landing was …show more content…
In the article, "Did NASA Fake the Moon Landing?" by Ray Villard, he removes all doubt from the people who believe that the United States faked its landing on the moon when he said: " The first images from the 1969 Apollo 11 landing are so fuzzy it seems like almost anything could have been pulled off -- except the effects of the Moon 's 1/6 gravity on astronaut motion. A cinematically naive assertion by Moon hoax advocates is that all scenes were filmed in the Nevada desert. To do this, technicians would have needed to block out the sky -- an inconceivable task to pull off without the use of a matte box in front of the lens to block some of the camera 's view. This would have required that the camera remain stationary. A key problem with a matte box is that shadows would have noticeably changed direction, shifting from west to east as the Sun moved across the sky during the hours of filming.
