The film, In The Mood For Love, still inherits Wong Kar-Wai’s film style, however, in this film, Wong has become more adept at using distinctive film elements to serve film theme. The film is set in Hong Kong in the 1960’s, in a rented apartment of a building, two couples’ wife (Su Li-zhen, Mrs. Chan) and husband (Chow Mo-wan, Mr. Chow) experience a sweet and also bitter love story, because their spouses have betrayed their marriage.
