The conflict arises to be one of the main points of the story and it is that of Victor Frankenstein. From the moment of the creatures animation Victor had a deep regret for what he had done. With the monster being both his greatest creation and a threat for society, Victor struggled with what he should do with it. At first Victor chose not to kill the monster however the creature choose to exact revenge upon his creator first. After Victor came to the realization that the monster had not only been responsible for the death of one but two innocent lives he made the decision to pursue the beast.
