I found all of the information presented about the Mongols to be quite intriguing. The most impressionable part for me was based on Kublai Khan's more personal family. I found it remarkable that his mother, Katutani, was able to demand and recieve respect for herself from members high up in the empire. Katutani was married into royalty, so she already had a lot more authority than those beneath her on the levels of heirarchy. However, she was one of many wives that were much less impressionable. I believe that her son, Kublai, owes much of his achievements to her wisdom and knowledge. She made sure that her son had the best education possible so that he could become a wise and powerful "Great Khan." Another woman in Kublai Khan's family that
