The Moment Sarah Matthews looked out of the window of her single-story house from her window seat that overlooked her backyard. Her eyes began to fill with tears. Today marked two years to the day since she lost her baby girl. She can remember the day of when it happened. Like it was yesterday because the pain was still there. There was a look in her husband's eyes of worry and sadness. The prayer she prayed to God was, “Why?” Even though she had not gotten the answer yet, she knew that it was all in God's plan, even though; sometimes she did not seem to believe it. The house she lived in now had a three bedrooms with a small kitchen, living room, and dining room. She sipped on her tea; Earl Grey which was unsweetened and decaffeinated …show more content…
What are you doing?” “Just relaxing at home. What are you doing?” “Making a pecan pie.” “Ooh, sounds good.” “It will be, son, it will be.” “Sarah and I wanted to tell you something.” “Go ahead.” “Well before I tell you, is dad around?” Chris sat on the couch while Sarah rested her head on his shoulder. “Yeah, he is. Let me go and get him.” Chris heard his mother call for his dad and a minute later his father is on the phone with his mother. “Hey, dad.” “Hey, Chris. What did you want to tell us?” “Well... Chris paused for a moment. He looked at his wife who wore a bright smile then he continued, “Sarah and I are having a baby.” His mother screamed into the phone and his father laughed joyfully. Chris's mother was the first one to speak, “Congratulations! I'm so happy for you.” “Congratulations son.” Chris father said. “Is Sarah close by?” Chris's mother questioned. “The phone's on speaker and she's sitting next to me.” “Okay. Sarah, I am so excited for you and for Chris.” “Thank you so much.” Sarah said with a smile. “You're welcome dear. Chris, I am going to have to get off of the phone with you two love birds. My hours have also increased some as well.” “You are taking the promotion, right?' “I am planning on it. But, finding out you're having a baby, I want to stay home with you more.” “Honey I know, but we're going to need the money.” “I may ask my boss if I can do some work at home. So, when the baby arrives, I can be home with the both of you and still make a decent income.” “I really like the idea and I am just hoping things work out.” “You mean the job?” “Yeah, but the baby.” “What do you mean?” “I just want this baby to live.
