They aim to improve and change these factors to allow for occurrence of crime to drop. This principle along with responsively, will allow for improvement and change in regular behavior preformed by the offender. This model of rehabilitation is a different approach; it takes under a lot of consideration and modification of the criminal themselves to provide the most effective solution. Anger management and violence prevention treatments are offered within prisons, which include relaxation education, social skills and perceptive guidance. It is clear that Nigel has poor social skills, and has been brought up with parents whom have not had control over their behaviors and was not taught correctly. These programs for more aimed to allow for the individual to have a therapist experiment rather than educational. If graduated the program successfully some states for example Western Australia allow for prisoners to be relocated to drug free units. This type of training allows for Nigel to have a better understanding and control about himself and how to act in situations that may deem to be hard to cope with (Kevin Howells, Andrew Day, Susan Bubner, Susan Jauncey, Paul Williamson, Ann Parker and Karen Heseltine June 2002). After these programs are completed, some prisons allow for individuals to be transferred laboring farms. This allows for them to have somewhat of a life outside the prison walls. If on good behavior and Nigel’s behavior continues to rise, this may be a possibility. These then creating a work ethic that may give Nigel a bit of a push in the right direction, and make him feel as if he plays a place in a community. This plan is known as ‘Work Program’ it began in 1990, and has been a success not only for prisoners but also communities. This type of approach has been not only successful with rehabilitation with hands on work, but also allows for communities to have an acceptance towards the individuals.
