The Mist of Tyrania
It all started with Poseidon's prophecy. He said to Odysseus, "For the sea shall churn, the earth will tremble, five brave men must assemble, there will be a treacherous fight, Odysseus shan't fall if he can might." The great Odysseus would have never followed Poseidon's prophecy if he had known what was in store for him. They had been at sea for what seemed like years. (endurance) Yet, the sea stretched out before them, no land in sight! It was like the sky and water were melded into one deep blue mass. The crucial resources they had were running scarce. They rarely questioned Odysseus's decisions, but this felt like a risk not worth taking. They were terrified because they had no idea where they were sailing, or frankly why. All they knew was that Odysseus always listened to the gods. The war at Troy had been long lasting, but they persevered. The rest of their crew had traveled back to Ithaca to tell the people about their victory. Odysseus and his four men had only separated from the pact to follow Poseidon's prophecy. He followed the footprints, searching desperately for his beloved crew. Instead, he found four other men. He approached them from behind. The group of men were sitting around a fire. They were singing a tune that Odysseus had never heard. “The mist of Tyrania, an evil choir of souls, drive men into mania, are deceiving like a troll. Daylight is coming, along with your sight, Odysseus start running, cause we're about to fight.” Their heads snapped around simultaneously. Odysseus looked at their empty, black eye sockets and decided it was time to run. As he was running he noticed a weird wall of fog in front of him. He stopped dead in his tracks. He knew for a fact that if he ran into the mist, he would go blind. If he turned around, the evil quartet of men would get him. As he said to Colborn, “We have nowhere to travel except forth.” Odysseus charged into the mist with his eyes clenched shut. He rammed into something and fell backwards forcefully. His head snapped backwards and he saw the world buckle from upside down. The earth was shaking like how a baby shakes a rattle. Odysseus
