Everyday you see a new report pertaining to either a suspicion of a terrorist attack or either a wanted criminal that is in the run. But who are the people who essentially look into these crimes or threats, that would be the Department of Justice, specifically the Agency of Federal Bureau of Investigation. “The mission of the FBI is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners” (“The FBI: Quick Facts”, screen). Not only does the FBI look into these threats, their job is to make sure the United States is not vulnerable to threats or attacks 24/7. Without the 55% budget given to the Department of Justice, the United States would have to make many trade offs, trade offs being when we sacrifice one thing to gain another, that would affect them in their future. What an opportunity cost is, is an opportunity lost when you have two options and you decide on one while losing a opportunity with the other option. One opportunity cost that would happen if the United States does not give the 55% budget to the Department of Justice, The Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be gravely affected as without the money the agency will not be able to do their job which is, “The FBI focuses on threats that challenge the foundations of American society…
