Morrison noticed that all killers have something in common and that their brains are affected in the same areas. They believe that killers had the same sort of damage to the same part of the brain. Jim Fallon a neuroscientist discovered that serials killers have a low orbital cortex activity. Scanning the brain, doctors use a machine called Positron Emission Tomography (PET). They have done research on the brain and have figured that a normal human brain has an average x shape on the brain but it was the opposite for a killer’s brain. The serial killer result was that the brain had a large x shape and had deep colors surrounding the brain. The brain had more areas of red, yellow, black and blue. Each color means something. The red and yellow are high metabolic activities, for the black and blue it meant having a low metabolic. The doctors conclude it was because some of the serial killers were treated physical or sexual abuse, neglect or subject to traumas. In recent studies, the journal Aggression and Violent Behaviors still had questions about Adam Lanza. The killer that shot 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.
