Their behavior in which they behave in the office (when looking for Neo) is intimidating which in real life the police are actually intimidating. The manner which the dress code of each character goes hand in hand with their behavior. The characters are well dressed. Neo’s dressing code emphasizes the actual life of reality as he looks respected and with dignity in his grey suit and ties. In the Matrix as a whole - it is shown by the use of the green color, but in this scene, the color black and grey are used for the audience to spot the difference when the character is in the real world not of the Matrix. As Neo and The Agents are exposed outside the Matrix (office) these dark colors worn appears to be the symbolism of reality. Therefore, the alteration of colors is there to be noticed by the viewers as an important aspect of the film.
