The minor operation hazard analysis is usually used as a mechanism for the crew to identify and talk about the hazards associated with a short term or changed operation, before you start the work. They use the Minor Operation Hazard Analysis form strictly for the following instances: operations that occur due to something changing and it’s not covered by the JHA. Short-tern non repetitive operations that last less than 4 hours (like unloading a truck, repairing access systems, and moving stuff around to start the work. Also for operations that involve high risk tools and the need of fall protection, mini JHAs won’t be used. They also have the Project Start-Up Safety Meeting, which is where The Project Manager/Job Superintendent will hold an initial staff meeting to discuss the Site Specific Project Safety Plan and ensure all risks and concerns are addressed. There is also a safety website, the website includes training modules, training videos, toolbox meeting materials, safety forms, craft recognition, the Best Safety Practices and Safety Policy Manual, and much more. Then there’s the Weekly Safety Reports that come out each week on Tuesday evening, every district employee gets a weekly safety report. The Job Superintendent is to plan, organize and lead a weekly meeting to be attended by all foremen, superintendents, and field engineers.
