Personality is the reasonably stable patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors derived from both genetic predisposition and social learning that distinguish one person from another. There are three terms related to personality. They are traits, states, and types (Drummond & Sheperis, 2016).
The term personality trait refers to enduring personal characteristics that are revealed in a particular pattern of behavior in different situations (Drummond & Sheperis, 2016). The Thematic Apperception Test has 31 black and white pictures. A client is usually shown between 10 -14 and asked to tell a story about each. Projective drawing is a where the client is asked to draw a person or a house. Some verbal projective tests that are available would be sentence completion or asking a client “if you had 3 wishes what would they be?” (Martinez, 2012). The projective tests are limited to the examiners opinion, so they fail to be proven in reliability and validity
