The Middle Ages deserves to be called the Dark ages because it was a period in time that caused sorrow and death. It was a period in time that caused many people to wander if there is a better life out there, or even in the future for the next genoration. There were many invasions that killed thousands of lives and destroyed the peace. Disease is another main reason because not only did it cause so much harm, but it also left a mark on history killing many people. It also deserves to be called the Dark Ages because during that time people focused on surviving that they didn 't have time for Education, therefore they lost most of their knowledge of their culture and their language. However there are opponents who believe that the middle ages should not be called the dark ages because of many reasons that changed history. Supporters on this topic believe that the middle ages deserve to be called the dark ages because of invasions. One piece of evidence to support this belief is, Invaders almost destroyed Rome and the Carolingian empire. Also since merchants faced invasions from land and sea it made trade market collapse. Invaders attacked from the South and East to North they killed many people and attacked anything that was in their; way some invaders like the Huns did not want to claim any land, they only destroyed many villages causing people to go into survival mode and fear because nowhere was safe to hide.
