The Mezuzah itself was made from clay and is painted blue, one of the colors on the Jewish flag. On the Mezuzah is a picture of a Jewish letter, the shin. The significance of the shin is that it is the first letter of a name for God, Shaddai. Inside of the Mezuzah is a rolled-up piece of paper with many drawings on it. It says “Never Forget” in big letters to show the theme of never forgetting the Holocaust so it will not be repeated. It also has pictures of the cattle cars that Elie was shoved into by the Gestapo, along with many other people as they were transported. Another picture is of barbed wire, which was used as a fence along the concentration camp walls. A word I wrote in Hebrew was the word for God in the Hebrew language. Lastly, I have a picture of Auschwitz, the most infamous death camp during the Holocaust. The pictures in the Mezuzah show, the theme of “We shall not forget”, which is one of the most important themes of the Holocaust
