The Metropolitan Museum

When I first found out that we had a field trip in this class to the museum my first thought was “oh I thought this class was only online”. As time when on in the class learning about art and the meaning of art, I started to get more excited. I have been to many art museums in my life but never fully appreciated it. When we got to the museum I was actually pretty surprised at how huge it was. One of the museums I have gone to is The Metropolitan Museum in New York City, which is massive, so for the one in Minneapolis, I thought that it would be way smaller. To my surprise it was not. I think that most rooms were lighted well. Some of the paintings the light would be shining right on their face or on the main part of the image so it was hard to see. That was only on some though, others they were shining right on the right points to make the colors look vibrant. The lighting affects the objects by bringing out more colors, otherwise, they could look dark and gloomy and even possibly have a shadowy look to them. My favorite part of the museum of the Guillermo del Toro exhibit, I was not sure what to exactly expect. This exhibit was one of the best I have seen. It kept me interested all the way through. I like how they have characters from movies that he has done and then recognizing them was so cool. I did not realize some of the movies where him such as Hellboy (2004), Crimson Peak (2015), and Pacific Rim (2013). All of these movies I enjoyed so it was exciting to see the making behind them. Another one of my favorite parts of the museum that I would like to add is their collection of Ancient Art. Anytime I go to a museum I always head straight the Greek and Roman
