The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is a book full of symbolisms; the whole book itself is a symbolism. No one knows what the book symbolizes due to Kafka passing away. However, that has not stopped many others trying to solve what the book stands for. There are hundreds of theories for what this book and the objects in this book could symbolize. In this essay the object that will be looked at is the picture that Gregor had up in his room, the women dressed in fur. Pictures can tell you a lot about a person, what they like, what they want to become, what they dream or are passionate about. The picture in Gregor 's house could symbolize other stuff besides what I listed in the previous sentence; no one knows what the picture means. We do not know much at all about him, we only know he is a hard worker, does not have self-esteem, put 's others before himself. However, thinking about what the picture could possible mean; a fantasy, dreams, ambition, the picture can mean something selfish even. These are all speculations of the connection Gregor has with the picture that no one can figure out what role the picture plays exactly. Pictures are able to tell you things about a person, and they can tell you nothing about a person if you do not know them that well enough. For example, if there was a picture of a forest with a waterfall and animals, one might observe the person is a fan of nature. When the truth is the person is a fan of the natural colors, how the artists captured the transitions in colors from light to dark.
