Abyssinia is the place that the prophet Muhammad told his followers to go to and seek refuge. The main reason that he told them to go there is because he told them that in Abyssinia there will be a righteous kind their. This is considered a very valuable moment for the Muslims. That is because since they were expelled from Mecca they needed a place to stay and live in peace without any harm or persecution. The king agreed to have and keep the followers of the prophet after they told him what they believed about Jesus and his mother Mary, and how God made Mary give birth without being touched by any man. After the prophet lost his protection from his tribe he attempted to flee to a nearby city called Ta’if. Unfortunately he was rejected by the people of that city and was forced to leave. Abu Sufyan and his collogues came up with a plan to kill the prophet. They agreed that a person from each of the seven tribes would go to the house of the prophet and kill him. This way they can all have equal share in his killing. Their attempt failed because when they got there it was Ali, his cousin that was laying in his bed as if it was the prophet. After that they send out assassins and put a price for whoever captures and kills the prophet. That attempt also failed because there was a time when the prophet was hiding inside a cave. A spider web was made over the wall as to make it look like there is no one hiding inside. Afterwards he was met by a group of people in the middle of the desert. These people were the people of Medina (ansar/helpers). The people of Medina made a pledge with the prophet Muhammad that they would be his followers and accept the religion of Islam. They also made a pledge that he should go to Medina and live there as well.
