The puddle keeps transforming in to different shapes as the sun reflects different levels of brightness on the road. You look around and see that it is not raining and you wonder why you would be seeing a puddle. As your car gets even nearer to the puddle suddenly the puddle disappears and all you see is the hot black pavement. This is when you realize that you were not seeing a puddle at all but rather you were seeing hot spots in the middle of the road.…

Flashback: Pearls and feathers, bobs and glamour! Reality: I was sitting at the very back of my poor excuse of a high school’s plain old, bland “English 4” class in Levi mom jeans, a cropped top, and Chuck Taylors; except I wasn’t. I wasn’t at all. (Take One): Pouncing upon my sister’s Macbook Air, I was on a written escapade away from the Upper West Side’s public school nightmare and, instead, running up and down the catwalk at New York’s Couture’s 1956 Fashion Show!…

I’ve never really had friends. I had people that I would occasionally talk to, and maybe eat lunch with every couple of weeks at school but most of the time, I was alone. School and home weren 't that different from each other; I wasn’t close to anyone at school and I wasn’t close to anyone at home either. Not having anyone that I could really talk to forced me to constantly suppress my feelings and deal with them by myself.…

It started with a dead cat, and it ended with a dead cat. Well, it technically ended with therapy, but you get the picture. Flashback to ninth grade: a friend of my mother called us up to tell her one of the stray neighborhood cats had died, leaving behind a litter of day old kittens. She said she didn't have the time or resources to care for them, and asked if my mom could take them off her hands until they became old enough to give to the SPCA. My mother, with her wretched bleeding heart, obliged more than willingly, and we found ourselves with a litter of newborn kittens for at least the third time.…

It was a chaotic day at the hospital, and the waiting room was packed tighter than a can of sardines. The smell of disinfectant and sweat seemed pleasant, when compared to the baby with the sagging diaper running around. Sitting with his girlfriend was Larry Goodman, a Rubeus Hagrid lookalike, minus the moleskin overcoat. He adjusted the blue hospital mask that was too tight. He couldn’t believe it, sitting here for the second time this week.…

Walking towards her coffin was really hard for me since it’s a very sad and hurtful experience that no one like to go through. I started to tear down as soon as I saw her 3 children cry for her. I gave them my condolences and let them know that we had to be strong and realize that know she was in heaven resting in…
