The first factor Jeanette individually uses is her positivity. Her positivity enabled her to develop because she was often let down by her parents even when trying to help her family. This quality allowed her to grow up through the hardships and make it out of the town that was only holding her back from her successes. Positivity is an example of an individual factor because it is her own activity and it plays a large role in her development. She used positive spirits many times over the course of the book when children are tease her for her dingy appearance. Another individual factor of Jeanette’s was her countless hours of practice writing
