The medical field is a large community with several professions. One of these such professions is physical therapy. Medical professions often take a long time to pursue and require tremendous amount of time to obtain. Physical therapy shows this in many aspects of the job as well as obtaining the job. I personally want to enter this career field because I feel I could tolerate and enjoy this field of work as it contains many of my interests and I feel I would be unhappy in most other work settings. It takes about 6-7 years without failing classes in order to get a license. I will have to develop habits in college such as completing work when assigned and studying more often. This is because according to apta.org “After graduation with a bachelor’s degree candidates must pass a state-administered national exam to obtain liscensure or certification required in most states.” This quote shows that obtaining this license takes patience and money as well as a strong work ethic in order to pass classes and examinations without wasting time repeating previous work. Also, to join I will need to learn certain life skills such as working in groups, social skills, proper contact, and physical proximity. Not only must I get my bachelors degree, but I must get a professional degree of doctorate to legally practice physical therapy in New …show more content…
Not only does its take a long time to get licensed, but it takes a long time to get a good job in this field. I plan to go into physical therapy because it interests me, has suitable salary, and I feel it will overall satisfy me in my work and home life.
