continue to work to have the medical coverage for treatment, yet there is not a program set up to care for these employees. To cover them and lift them up, in the past there was a program. But that has been cut because a manager felt it was costly for the company to maintain. Periodically the company may have programs or money set aside to assist the employees. Yet that information is not disseminated to the employees, they are not told because the HR department does not want to run out of money. Ironically many employees have stuck with the company; they are guiding the new employees through benefit selections, through job selections and through filing grievances against the company. Many of these decisions have been based on trial and error on the lowest management level: the supervisor. The supervisor is the first contact with an employee in any situation. The initial communication and handling of an issue can establish a bond of trust or it can let the employee know that they are on their own at the company. The writer has assessed that the organization 's ethical climate rates very poorly within the production area of the company. There are policies and procedures in place at UPS to handle situations such as sexual harassment, discrimination, and unfair treatment. Yet through the writers research, she discovered that the employees have developed a micro-society that operates within the departments. Have the consulting firm meet with low-level supervisors to determine what procedures they are using in dealing with their employees. Use the discussions from this brainstorm session to finalize the new process and procedures. In April 2017 the company will select this consulting firm and give them six months to complete the review process and interviews, this places the time frame in October 2017. Step -3: Take bids from reputable companies that deal with Human Resource issues. The company must be able to grow globally or already be established as a global HR company. This company must be able to manage staffing any position with qualified workers. The company must be bonded and insured against fraud, in case they place an individual that has a criminal background. The company will be responsible for the management of any and all human resource functions for UPS and will be considered a contract at will vendor for UPS. This means that if at any time UPS is not satisfied the contract between the outsourced HR Company and UPS can be terminated.
