Today, with all of our advanced technology, the media influences people’s lives more than ever. With more access to the media it makes it easier to spread in support for animal’s rights. Whether it be the television, the radio, magazines, Internet, or even the newspapers, the media has a huge impact on lives around the world. In the last fifty years or so alone the media has in some way or form shaped just about every aspect of people’s lives. The power of media can help spread awareness all over the world. What is media exactly? The media is communication channels through which the news, such as education, entertainment, data, and messages are broadcasted. Animal activists have taken animal rights to a whole new level. Animal activists are people who stand up for animals, they want to sensitize others, and spread awareness about issues such as animal hunting, experimenting, and animal fur. A video that has gone viral recently show, two animal activist that steal a puppy from a homeless man. The activist believed that the homeless man had drugged the puppy. Little did they know, the puppy was the man’s best friend. Recent stories of Animal activist are starting to ruin their reputation by their violence. When you think of animal activists, you hope to hear that these people are very passionate about helping the animal’s rights issue. They do have passion, but like other activists, they get their point across with a violent initiative. However, recent news the Animal Enterprise Terrorism act says to violate the freedom of speech. It is said that activists push the amendment and saying the boycotting is becoming too extreme, explains the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act on Huffintonpost. Animal Activists are being charged with secretly documenting industries that involve inhumane methods of animals across seas, and starting to make issues between animal factories across the globe. People are putting themselves at risk at proving the law is unconstitutional. With the First amendment available for Americans, you have the privilege to express yourself freely. You have the freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition. It gives everyone a voice and a choice to live their lives freely and happily. If you say what you think, it’s encouraged, if you want to raise awareness to something you think is immoral, it’s encouraged, if you want to fight for what is right, its encouraged, but there’s always limitations.
