Women get looked down at when they breastfeed in public yet all over the media woman can be shown nearly naked and be praised for it. These women are trying to give their child the nutrients they need to grow and are being told to take it somewhere else or cover it up. Now there have been several different solutions put into place such as in the city of Los Angeles. They have a city-wide policy that has several little pitstop places that are used as lactation rooms that have several different devices to help a mother who needs to collect their milk (“Public Administrations”). This issue is currently getting a lot of social media coverage, mainly on YouTube and Facebook. There are verified YouTubers who have been performing social experiments to see the reactions of others when a woman breastfeeds in public, which gained a mixed result of reactions. There is a video by Joey Salad that shows that people will go out of their way to tell a mother that they are uncomfortable, a man walking and talking on the phone looks over and then starts talking about the woman in the experiment when he should have just continued to walk away and talk about what was being discussed previously …show more content…
While it is important to try and get the older generations to see and understand the future is what one should focus on as their main priority. Younger children are already getting taught about sex and are hopefully being raised to be open minded, this is just taking it a step forward and showing them not to degrade or make someone feel bad about themselves over something they can not help. There will be lessons, and activities that they can experience and when they grow older and are able to fully understand the purpose of what was taught to them in their younger years, they will appreciate that they can make well-educated decisions about their future. A woman will not have to worry about a stranger staring at them to judge. There will always be that sliver of looking down on someone for breastfeeding in public but that sliver can be over
