Exploring the unknown is another significant aspect of gaining knowledge. After the escaped prisoner and Neo become accepted about their world, they both proceed to explore and obtain a better understanding. In The Matrix, Morpheus, the man who informs Neo of these new ideas, states, “I’m trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You’re the one that has to walk through it.” This quote is an example of how it is up to the learner to explore new information in order to learn. The door that Morpheus speaks of is a symbol for knowledge. A student must be willing to learn and examine the curriculum in order to obtain knowledge.
