Andy Weir not only inspires with the book, but with his life as well: “He published his early literary work on his personal website and attracted a large fan base after posting his short story ‘The Egg” (Learn About Andy). When he starts something he continues, which shows how hardworking Andy is:“Andy Weir was first hired as a programmer for a national laboratory at age fifteen and has been working as a software engineer ever since” (About Andy Weir). Andy Weir tries hard with everything he does until he gets it right: “The Martian is his first [full] novel” (Weir). Suspense is what this book is built on, so it is really awesome when there are parts of the book when there are parts of the book like this: “I'm going to be setting a fire. In the Hab [a shelter that can protect the astronauts from the harsh environment of Mars; the astronauts’ habitat]. On purpose.
