The Martian Conspiracy

A silvery disk plummets from the sky crashing loudly into the ground below. A panel of the ship slid open, smoke poured out from inside the ship. Out of the smoke stepped a small green creature. It had large black eyes and smooth green skin. It’s a Martian, sent to explore Earth. The Martian slowly walks down a ramp from his ship to the ground below. The ground is different here than it is on Mars. It is brown and covered with green plants. It is much softer than the rocky soil of Mars. The Martian claps its hands together, causing a thin disk to emerge from the spacecraft. The Martian climbed onto the disk. Ready to explore the Martian shifted its weight forward causing the disk to take off.

Fewer than a hundred years ago, the moon was still untouched by man and was one of the greatest mysteries to mankind. In 1961, John F. Kennedy established his ambitious goal to put an American man on the moon by the end of the decade. During the newfound Space Age, the United States and the Soviet Union were committed to a demanding competition to see who made it to the moon first; this was later proclaimed the “space race”. To America’s excitement, on July 20, 1969, American Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. Although, recent polls in the Engineering & Technology British magazine, approximately 25% say they don’t believe anyone has ever landed on the moon.…

The year is 1961 and the U.S. is six years deep in a space race with the Soviet Union to show off to each other who has the best air and space capabilities. President Kennedy gives a speech saying that we will go to the moon “not because it is easy, but because it is hard” (Engle). Less than a decade later, on July 20th, 1969 at 20:17:40 UTC, the Apollo 13 mission put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon (“Theories”). Ever since that day the people have doubted the fact that we ever put people on the moon. An opinion poll found six percent of American believed the U.S. did not go to the moon, with it jumping to 20% after Fox released the 2001 documentary: Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?…

What goes on in Area 51 has long been a mystery. People have always been curious as to what goes on beyond the high levels of security and in the depths of the actual buildings. Although Area 51 keeps everything they do a secret, they do, in fact, have extraterrestrial findings that they keep in possession without the world’s knowledge. There are two locations of Area 51; the first one is located in the Nevada desert within reach of Groom Lake, which is a lake that overtime has dried out. It is not officially confirmed that this site exists, because although you can see it from satellites such as Google Maps, you cannot find it on any government maps.…

A Lingering Conspiracy in American History Although taking place over a half-century ago, people consider the assassination of John F. Kennedy as one of the most prominent events of American history. With the National Archives releasing nearly 20,000 declassified CIA and FBI documents in 2017, new details and revelations give conspiracy theorists a new insight on what really occurred on November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza. The lead investigation team in 1963, the Warren Commission, concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the man who gunned down the 35th President of the United States using a Carcano 91/38 Infantry Rifle.…

Moon landing conspiracy theories claim that foundations of the Apollo program and the connected Moon landings were complete frauds staged by NASA. The most famous claim is that landings (1969–72) were faked and that 12 Apollo astronauts did not actually walk on the Moon. Numerous groups and individuals have made these accusations since the mid-1970s, that NASA and others intentionally deceived the public into believing the landings happened, by manufacturing or destroying evidence including photos, telemetry tapes, radio and TV transmissions and Moon rock samples. Conspiracists have managed to endure public interest in their theories for more than 40 years, regardless of the denials and third-party evidence. Hundreds…

Fear is basically just an active imagination that comes to a person when creating the worst possible scenario. Imagining gruesome scenarios is kind of like a comfort because then you know what to expect. People don’t normally find themselves being happy when they are getting kidnapped. Fear allows people to imagine an unnatural scenario, which can blind them to act irrationally and unreasonably. In the book, The Martian Chronicles, written by Ray Bradbury, a chapter was introduced to us in a new perspective.…

I had always been fascinated by modern mysteries and conspiracy theories, but before this class, I had no clue what to accept and how to analyze the information that I was presented to me. I chose the topic of the Moon Landing, because it enabled me to take a second look at the conspiracy theory through a new lens of experience. To understand where this idea of a hoax originates, we need to understand what was going on before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Starting in the 1950s, America was in a cold war with Soviet Russia, which was less of a physical battle and more of a challenge of who had a better structured government. It was a challenge of superiority that eventually led to the space race in 1955.…

Conspiracy Theory Essay The conspiracy that I decided to do is back on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong becoming the first man to walk on the moon was actually a hoax set up by NASA. In photographs, it looks to be seen that the American flag is blowing in the breeze even though there is no atmosphere along with the shadows do not match up. Where Apollo 11 landed, there also is no crater, there are too many light sources and the Van Allen radiation belt should have cooked the astronauts, unexplained objects, slow motion walking, and the hidden cables, lack of starts the “c” rock and the backdrop photo. Lots of people believe that the moon landing never happened and that it was the US government asset to their victory over Russia in…
