When I was little I was always obsessed with my brother’s awards and accomplishments, I even used to pretend to be him. Although I wouldn’t dress up like him as most would imagine, I would repeat things he said, or I would speak the intellectual way I assumed he did. I was always told how much like him I was, from looks to intelligence, but I wanted to be myself. Don’t get me wrong, I had my own academic awards as well, but this was elementary school and he was a nationally ranked high school debater. I was always a slacker and procrastinator growing up, but the last few years of AP and college prep courses have metaphorically whipped me into shape. Especially when it comes to the AP exams every May, they’re not as stressful as the rumors may say but waiting for the score to come in later that summer is the absolute worst. It’s taken me my 18 years of life to even finalized an official major other than knowing I wanted to pursue a career in business or design, but whichever I choose I know that I will excell in it regardless of what others say. I plan on getting my masters and hopefully I can work hard and receive it within 6 years or less if possible.
