Every disciple of Christ is called to grab the baton of the Great Commission, and run with it. It is definite that Jesus’s disciples should live with the Mission of God attached to their lives; because it is God’s command to go into all the world and make disciples.
Let 's begin; the mantle of the Great Commission in the Gospel of Matthew is in chapter 28 verse 18, which says, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” A word that should highlight the eyes on the reader is ‘authority.’ Authority in Greek is exousia which literally means, power of authority, influence, and of right privilege. Jesus has given His disciples power, influence, and the privilege (special right or benefit) to carry out His command. What a exceptional privilege for believers who have are equipped to carry out God’s special mission. Now, the mantle that Christ has given His Saints comes with responsibility in the role, not to just accomplish by one’s self, but the ability to pass it on! Let 's shift to an analogy. In 4x1 track, there are four people each running 100 meters passing a baton, this is called a relay. The starter starts with the baton. When the gun is fired all the starters take off! Now, the exchange is the most important part in a relay when the starter runs his or her 100 meters; because if the exchange is not executed properly, there will be trouble for the team.
