someone can do something with the best intentions in mind, but get an outcome far
different than what they had expected. If one thing is the same all about technology,
whether it be for good or evil, it is that most of the time, their creators started out with
the best intentions. Probably the best example of this is the Manhattan Project: the
creation of the atomic bomb.
In 1939, Albert Einstein wrote to President Franklin Roosevelt and urged him to
approve a program that would create the first nuclear weapon. The purpose was to get
the jump on Nazi Germany, who had already begun research and development on the
idea of a “weapon of mass destruction.”
