Proserpina was a very stubborn child. She almost never listened to her mother, because in her words “She was too cautious and boring.” Her mother being Ceres (the goddess of Agriculture), of course. One day Ceres said to Proserpina “You must not go beyond the gates of our house today, there is a riot in the next town over that is happening currently.” Ceres continued saying “because it doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon I fear that I may have to intervene.” Being the defiant child that Proserpina is, she decided to run away and teach her mother a lesson to not hold her down. She planned to leave a few hours after her mother left just to make sure that she wasn’t caught.
