My Future Is Bright For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had an interest in psychology. I want to understand how the mind works and why people act the way they do to certain situations, etc. I’ve also wanted to work with children my entire life. So, for my career choice, I would like to become a child’s psychologist that specializes in behavioral disorders. Recently, though, I’ve decided that before I become another “corporate zombie”, doing what “the man” expects me to do straight out of high school, I want to travel. I want to experience what the world has to offer while I’m still young. I plan to travel the United States, by car. I want to see small towns and ghost towns that people don’t normally vacation at. I want to find what the world has to offer and also give myself a chance to find myself. This will take a lot of time, money, and hard work, but I am willing to do all that I need to do in order to achieve this goal. It seems to me that everyone expects us kids to get a job and go to college directly out of high school, and most of us end up doing so. I want to live different and spontaneously. I don’t want to live up to anybody else’s standards, but my own. I want to make everyday worthwhile until the day I die. You are in charge of how you live your life and your happiness. I know a lot of people think my plan is crazy and unrealistic, but I’ve always been told that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. I’ve been told that since day one, in school and at home. I intend to prove that, that statement is true. I will work hard and save up, I will travel where ever I want to go, and I will get my degree in

For a long time, psychology has been an area that I’ve been consistently drawn to. Originally, the thing that brought about my interest was human behavior and how it can be analyzed and interpreted; and also what drives our behavior. Going along with my previous statement, serial killers are another reason I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could about psychology. I started reading about them when I was between the ages of 12 and 13, first about the well-known ones that I had already heard a little about and then I moved onto the lesser-know ones.…

As young children, we are asked the cliché “What do you want to be when you grow up” question. Due to high expectations, it is always answered with lawyers, doctors, surgeons, chefs etc. In our minds, at that age, we believe that it is quite simple to obtain or become a member of that profession. In order to become what we envision, we must graduate from high school and receive a certified high school diploma. Lately, the United States are dealing with teenagers dropping out of high school only to find themselves in a low-end job, and life.…

The point where I realized I was no longer a kid, was when my mother made me pay for everything I desired. Until that moment, I thought I would always have support from my mother, she got me everything I asked for, especially when I most deserved it. As I got older, asking for things had become more difficult. I realized that I was expected to work hard for what I want, not have it handed to me. It was time for me to do things on my own, and though I knew it would be difficult, I also knew it would help me in the long run.…
