Identity is not only something that represents a person, but also defines a person. It contains the past life experience of an individual and what this individual has had an effect on. It all forms together to create the make-up of the individual's identity. These stories, formed from our past, define who we are and who we will become. A major influence from the past can change everything, for example: if my father was still alive today, would I be the motivated individual that I am now?
