The make-up in this musical is phenomenal. The way they capture the Oger’s physical appearance really helps the audience feel like they are a part of the journey. Feeling included also shows a sign of the audience comprehending and understanding the story line. The story line is one of the top aspects of a show , and having the make-up correspond with the story is the best way to enhance the stage performance. For example, the Oger’s clothing is of a dark, dirty, nature that amplifies them being on the lower spectrum of the social status. Unlike the Oger’s clothing, Lord ForkLord’s clothing was of rich descent. It was very well put together and played off of his characteristics. The make-up and costume aspect of the musical was merely breathtaking leading to the setting being equally designed.
The setting was very creative and the details were above and beyond on the set. Now if I had to chose a scene that the setting was most effective I would have to say it is in the woods. As Shrek traveled the center piece rotated instead of having a blocking pattern. Small adjustments like that made the setting and implement to the era and time period of the
