World War One, or “the war to end all wars”, was a bloody and ruthless was that saw many new types of warfare never seen before. Air warfare and chemical are just some of the examples. Before the war had even began countries were trying to see who could build the “biggest and baddest” new war machine whether it be a handheld like a grenade or gun, tanks and navy ships. Unfortunately after our servicemen came home, either they had forgotten or hadn’t know at all, why the war had started at all. There were four major causes of World War One and they are as follows : Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism. Militarism is the buildup and development of ones armed forces or weapons.
